Music to the ETU’s ears
Not one to readily ignore a community group or organisation looking for a hand the ETU recently played a leading role in funding a recording studio at Thomastown Secondary College. The initial approach came via proud ETU member John Zlatanovski. A former student at the school John took up the challenge after a discussion at an apprentices committee meeting in 2004. A keen guitarist in his spare time, John recalls as a student 'playing music at every break in an old music room.'
‘It’s a great project, so we had no hesitation about providing the funding,’ said secretary Dean Mighell, who launched the studio on Thursday 29 April. The principal of the school Leonie White was full of praise for the ETU.
