Concerned about ‘future proofing’ our society from the onset of climate change an organisation has formed to harness community power to get solar power.  The organisaton called Future Proof intends is to harness the communities’ collective power to get discount solar power.
 
Run by volunteers, it initially aims to undertake a pilot within the suburb of Alphington to get group discounts for sustainable improvements for homes in that suburb.
 
Their criteria includes:

• Best value price for solar panels, inverters and other components;
• Ethical and safe installation (e.g. unionised electricians, good OHS record, accreditation, etc);
• Quality components with good warranties.
