ETU goes to the Senate
The ETU will be providing a submission to the Senate inquiry into the ALP's Fair Work Bill. The Bill, which has not even restored the IR conditions created by Peter Reith in 1996, fails to meet the expectations created at the last federal election.
From secret ballots (capable of manipulation by bosses), restrictions on the content of EBAs and the right of entry for officials, to the right to strike there is no shortage of disappointments. And of course, who can forget the ABCC and its impact on workers' rights? The ETU will place these concerns before the Senate inquiry.
